Red Light reopens on Tariff Street |
LGBTQ+ cocktail bar moves from Kampus to the Northern Quarter |

Red Light, the LGBTQ+ cocktail bar founded by Deana Ferguson, reopened on Friday 9 October 2026 at a new home on Tariff Street in Manchester's Northern Quarter, next door to The Whisky Jar.
The bar first opened at Kampus, on the edge of the Gay Village, in 2022 and closed a couple of months before the move. Ferguson has fitted out the Tariff Street space with booth seating, red lighting and an outdoor terrace that stays open until 11pm. A downstairs club space is due to open later in the year.
The address is 12 Tariff Street, Manchester M1 2FF, according to Manchester's Finest. Red Light's own site is at redlightmcr.co.uk.
Drinks, snacks and music
Signature cocktails from the Kampus menu are back, including the Pink Picante, Pomme Verte (an appletini twist), Belfast Coffee, the spicy pickle martini Especiado, and Pornstar Chic with homemade passionfruit sorbet.
A new snack list includes boquerones, pickled guindilla peppers and Gordal olives, plus mini croissant butter blondies from Manchester bakery Pollen and homemade salted popcorn ice cream.
Entertainment covers live jazz on Sundays, drag and burlesque, themed nights and late-night DJ sets spanning Italo disco and French house. Walls feature work by local queer photographers Jen Melia, Sara Carpentieri, Nick Priestley and Harmeet Singh.
What the founder said
"Red Light has always been about bringing people together over exceptional drinks in an inviting, unpretentious environment," Ferguson said. "Our new location gives us the space to realise that vision fully, with the same soul and now a proper home for cocktails, food, and great music."
The bar is mainly walk-in, with table service throughout, and private hire is available. I Love Manchester reports opening from 4pm Wednesday to Sunday, until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.
