Bruno Fernandes' Home Reported Burgled |
Cheshire Police are investigating after three men were seen in a neighbouring garden on 21 October |

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes' home in Cheshire was burgled on Wednesday 21 October while he was in Italy for the club's Champions League game against Como, BBC Sport reported.
Cheshire Police said officers were called at around 8.30pm to reports of suspicious activity, after a caller reported “three unknown men in the rear garden of a neighbouring property”. There was no trace of the suspects when officers arrived, but officers found that there had been a burglary at the address and that a number of items had been stolen, the force said in a statement quoted by the Manchester Evening News (MEN). The police said they could neither confirm nor deny the identity of the victim.
BBC Sport said it understood that Fernandes' family were not in the house and that the intruders were inside for less than five minutes before police arrived. United are understood to be supporting the 32-year-old.
Detective Inspector David Jarvis, of Macclesfield Proactive CID, said: “The investigation is in its early stages at this time, and we’re committed to doing all we can to trace the people responsible.” Police want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen anything suspicious.
BBC Sport noted that other footballers have had their homes burgled while away with their teams, including Manchester City's Rúben Dias in January. No arrests have been reported.
