Harry Potter Forbidden Forest Experience Returns to Cheshire
Bolesworth Castle from 10 December, with a waitlist now open and general sale on 3 November

Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience, a night-time light trail based on the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films, will return to Cheshire for a limited run from 10 December 2026. It will be held at Bolesworth Castle in Tattenhall, near Chester, which Secret Manchester says is less than 90 minutes from Manchester.

As reported by Secret Manchester on 27 October, fans can join a waitlist now. Fever, which presents the event, said in its press release the same day that general tickets go on sale on Tuesday 3 November. The Fever waitlist page said an exclusive pre-sale for waitlist members would open at 11am on Friday 30 October. You can join the waitlist on Fever. Neither Fever's press release nor its waitlist page gives ticket prices.

Fever says the trail is 1.95km long and the visit takes between 60 and 90 minutes. Its waitlist page says sessions run from 4:30pm to 9pm. Fever describes the event as suitable for all ages, and the event's FAQs say children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

According to Fever, visitors meet creatures from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films, from the Hippogriff to the Niffler, brought to life with light, projection and interactive elements. Fever says the Golden Egg and a Death Eater are new to the UK at Bolesworth, with photo spots themed around Quidditch and Hagrid and the chance to try a wand duel, spellcasting and a Patronus. Secret Manchester also mentions Aragog's lair, a lantern walkway, a Thestral Carriage and a Quidditch finale.

The trail ends at a themed village with food and drink, according to Fever, and official merchandise. Secret Manchester adds that there is a marshmallow cart and a fire pit.

Fever says this is the first time the experience has returned to the UK since it ran at Arley Hall & Gardens in Cheshire in 2021 and 2022, when it was seen by more than 180,000 people. The Manchester Evening News described it as returning to the UK for the first time in four years.

The event's FAQs say the trail is outdoors and goes ahead “rain or shine”, on uneven surfaces that may be difficult in places for wheelchair users, and recommend sturdy outdoor shoes. Fever gives the address as Bolesworth Castle, Bolesworth Estate, Tattenhall, Chester, CH3 9JJ.
