Some links on Best of Manchester are monetized links, also known as affiliate links. This page explains what they are, what they mean for you, and how we keep them separate from our journalism.

What monetized links are

Some of our links to products, services or event tickets go through affiliate networks such as Awin. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, Best of Manchester may earn a small commission from the retailer or ticket seller.

It costs you nothing extra

You pay the same price whether you use our link or go to the seller directly. The commission is paid by the seller, not by you.

Your consumer rights are unchanged

When you buy through a monetized link, you buy directly from the retailer or ticket seller, on their terms. You keep all of your statutory consumer rights, including refunds, returns and cancellations. Using our link does not reduce or limit those rights in any way.

Why we use them

Commissions help fund Best of Manchester.

We have no interest in recommending anything poor

If a purchase is returned, cancelled or refunded, we receive no commission. A poor recommendation is therefore of no value to us. The only thing that works for us is pointing you to things that are genuinely worth your money.

Editorial independence

Affiliate relationships never decide what we cover or how we cover it. Editorial decisions are made independently and in line with the IMPRESS Standards Code. We never accept payment for positive coverage. Sponsored content is a separate arrangement and is always clearly labelled as such.

How to recognise them

Every article that contains monetized links, including event articles with links to buy tickets, carries a short note that says so and links to this page.

Questions and complaints

If you have a question or a concern about our use of monetized links, please see our Editorial Standards, Corrections & Complaints Policy.

Kasper Skov Jensen is the responsible editor-in-chief of Best of Manchester. This policy may be updated over time. The latest version is always the one published here.
