Celebrity Chef Restaurant Closes in Manchester, UK |
Ending an era of British fine dining with chef James Martin |

TV chef James Martin's restaurant at the Manchester235 casino has closed with immediate effect, ending a partnership that began in 2012.
Casino operator Metropolitan Gaming announced on 1 October that the restaurant partnership had concluded, with the restaurant ceasing trading the same day.
In an email to customers, the company said: "After a successful partnership spanning more than a decade, Metropolitan Gaming and James Martin have mutually agreed to conclude their restaurant partnership at Manchester235."
James Martin Manchester had become a destination restaurant inside the historic Great Northern Warehouse on Deansgate.
Metropolitan Gaming said employees affected by the closure have been retained within the wider Manchester235 business. Customers with existing reservations will be contacted directly about cancellations, and anyone with an outstanding James Martin gift card balance will receive a refund.
Venue director Maxine Gibbons said the partnership "has been an important part of Manchester235's story since 2012" and thanked "James and everyone who has been part of the James Martin Manchester team over the years".
The operator said it remains committed to Manchester235, with details of the venue's future food and drink offer to be announced in due course.
James Martin had not commented publicly on the closure at the time of the reports.
